I don’t even want to talk about the ref fixing games, that only makes my dad’s friend, who has been betting on games and complaining about how ‘NBA games are all fake,’ sound like a genius. Not only is he far from being one, I just don’t have the time and energy to get into this hot topic at the moment.

Finally, the true reason why Yi Jianlain does not want to play for the Bucks, according to The Journal Times:

Now we know the “real” reason Yi Jianlian is balking at playing in Milwaukee.

Said Ma Jian, a former Chinese basketball star: “Of course, definitely, CBA (Chinese Basketball Association) and Yi’s agents would prefer that he play in cities with large Chinese population. It will benefit both CBA and Yi; it will help promotion. And it will guarantee him better restaurants and perhaps better looking Chinese girlfriend.”

Un-fucking-believable. Yes, this is quoted from a former player who possibly joked about the restaurants and girlfriend part.

Or did he?

I would not pass them that the materialistic perks of being a national hero, and pressure from the PRC government that desperately need good PR are the reasons why we have this stalemate today. Why can’t we just play ball for the love of it? It’s not like Yi is some ghetto kid whose life-long dream is to hit the NBA and move his family out of the project. Yi is already a pro baller in China and I will find it hard to believe if his family isn’t at least in good condition. There are so many Asian boys working on their handling skills and drinking milk hoping they will get good enough, strong enough, tall enough to even be considered a prospect one day. Taiwanese pro teams used to have some partnership with the Sacramento Kings to send some of the Taiwanese players to go through summer training with them — that is pretty much how most of the Asian players get in terms of dream come true. There we have, Yi, a lottery pick, going to a stage many can only dream about, acting like a jackass by ignoring the city of Milwaukee. Yi’s team of agents said Milwaukee promised to travel to China to work out the situation but yet to do so, as if Yi is the victim here. WTF? you are the ones that stormed off New York claiming because Yi has to meet up with the rest of the Chinese team in Vegas, You didn’t show any respect then, and you respect them to go the extra mile and come to China because Yi is a spoiled little brat?

STFU, and play the game, please.
