Barry, The New Homerun King
The wait is over - Barry Bonds hit #756 to the right field off Mike Bascik of the Washington Nationals. In case you missed it, click HERE to view it on ESPN.
I was impressed with his post HR speech, and I think it’s perfect that he did it in San Fran. He may be hated everywhere else, but Giants fans showed him love. Shit, even fans in San Diego cheered him on when he tied Hank Aaron at 755.
The bottom line, for me at least, is that right now he represents one of the best slugger ever. He might have cheated, sure, but before the investigation ends, before I know more about it, I am not going to judge. I plan on reading “Game of Shadow” at some point, because apparently the stuff Lance Williams and Mark Fainaru-Wada said are pretty darn convincing.
Congrats, Barry, enjoy it while you can. Cause there are definitely too many people trying to drag you down.
